I wasn’t always good at sales.

In fact, when I first thought about selling my own products or services… it scared the hell out of me.

When I began working with founders – first in Japan and later around the world – I quickly learned how important the first experience was when building trust.

Especially in smaller startup ecosystems like Japan, where everyone is connected in some way, providing an amazing early experience wasn’t optional – it was the key to breaking in.

That same mindset – focusing on delivering great experiences – helped me grow globally too. Word of mouth and referrals became my biggest growth engine.

But even as my marketing improved and leads started coming in, I still struggled with one thing – the sales conversation.

It wasn’t until I joined a B2B brand, leading their sales efforts, that everything changed.

That experience helped me refine not just how I marketed – but how I sold.

I learned to lean into curiosity.
To listen before pitching.
To build rapport early and uncover what was really driving a client’s pain points.

Through that, I discovered a rhythm – a way to lead sales conversations without relying on scripts, pressure, or performance.

And that changed everything.

Over time, I combined what I’d learned from startup sales, founder coaching, and executive training into one repeatable approach.
